Inclusive Education
Inclusive Education
St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School is an inclusive environment where our Mercy Keys and Catholic Social Teaching guide our commitment in developing programs that meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Teachers will meet with families to establish a Personalised Plan for Learning for any student experiencing a learning difficulty, requiring adjustments to the curriculum or identified as having high intellectual potential. Individual Plans may emphasise curriculum, personal care, safety and health and/or transition. All students with diverse needs will be educated using a range of strategies including curriculum and assessment modification.
Intervention Programs
Reading Intervention is offered at St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School. English intervention is for students ‘at risk’ in literacy acquisition from Year 1 onwards.
Students are selected for English Intervention based on individual measures of assessment. Children work one on one and in small groups with educators trained to facilitate the Multi Lit and Reading Tutor reading programs.
